Barclay Goodrow is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on February 26, 1993, in Toronto, Ontario, his hockey journey started with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2009.

He was ultimately invited to attend the Sharks' 2014 Development Camp and training camp from where he stepped onto the professional stage. Goodrow made his NHL debut with the Sharks on October 30, 2014. However, he was traded to Tampa Bay Lightning in February 2020. He then played a crucial role in Lightning’s Stanley Cup playoffs run, where Goodrow contributed to Lightning’s Stanley Cup triumph. The following season, Goodrow returned and led Tampa Bay to a second consecutive Stanley Cup.

After the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Goodrow joined the New York Rangers on July 22, 2021, and quickly became a key player for the team. He recorded a career-high score during his inaugural season with 13 goals and 20 assists, earning the Rangers' Player Award.

Goodrow's journey took a significant turn on February 24, 2020, when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played a crucial role in the Tampa Bay Lightning's Stanley Cup victory. His first goal came in Game 4 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He also recorded five assists which helped the Lightning secure their first Stanley Cup since 2004 and Goodrow's first Stanley Cup.

The following season, Goodrow continued to excel where he earned recognition as NHL's Player of the Week and also contributed to the playoffs. Goodrow along with Blake Coleman and Yanni Gourde formed a dominant line throughout the season. In Game 2, Goodrow scored a crucial goal and the combined efforts of the players helped the team to achieve victory in five games and win back-to-back Stanley Cups. Additionally, Goodrow became the First Star of the Game and was also named Sport Aurora's Athlete of the Year.

Barclay Goodrow has won two Stanley Cups in his career. Both with the Tampa Bay Lightning in consecutive seasons (2019-20 and 2020-21). He contributed 12 points across both the campaigns. His most notable moment came when he assisted Blake Coleman in Game 2 of the finals. Goodrow assisted Coleman’s game winning goal with 1.1 second left in the second period.
