Brett Kulak is a Canadian defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers in 2025. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Draft after a strong year with the Vancouver Giants in the WHL. Kulak made his NHL debut with Calgary in 2015 and became a regular by the 2017–18 season. He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2018 and signed a three-year deal in 2019. On March 21, 2022, he was traded to the Oilers.

Kulak made an impact with Edmonton, scoring 8 points in 18 regular-season games and playing well in the 2022 playoffs with Tyson Barrie. He played in Game 7 against the Kings the same day his daughter was born. That year, the Oilers reached the Western Conference Final. After the season, Kulak signed a four-year, $11 million contract to stay in Edmonton.
