Nicholas Foligno, born on October 31, 1987, is an American professional ice hockey left winger and alternate captain for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League (NHL). Initially chosen by the Ottawa Senators as the 28th overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Foligno later played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins before joining the Chicago Blackhawks.

Selected by the Senators in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Foligno signed a three-year entry-level contract. After a stint with the Binghamton Senators in the AHL, he made his mark in the NHL during the 2007–08 season. Over his time with Ottawa, Foligno showcased his scoring prowess, contributing significantly to the team's efforts.

Traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012, Foligno became a key player, notably scoring a memorable overtime goal in the 2014 playoffs. His outstanding performance earned him a spot in the 2015 NHL All-Star Game, representing the Blue Jackets. In May 2015, he was named the captain, leading the team with career-high goals and points during the 2014–15 season. In 2021, Foligno was part of a three-team trade that landed him with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Despite facing injuries, he made contributions during the regular season and playoffs.
