George Peter DeBoer is a former Canadian ice hockey player turned coach. Born on June 13, 1968, is currently serving as a head coach for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League and also a co-owner of the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Contributing as a coach for more than 13 seasons, Peter has earned the Coach of the Year award twice in the OHL. He took the role of the head coach for multiple teams including Detroit Whalers, Plymouth Whalers, and Kitchener Rangers. During his time with the Kitchener, he led them to win the Memorial Cup in 2003.
Beyond the OHL, Peter took the role of head coach for various other teams in the NHL. He served for the Florida Panthers from 2008 to 2011, the New Jersey Devils from 2011 to 2014, the San Jose Sharks from 2015 to 2019, and the Vegas Golden Knights from 2020 to 2022. Throughout his coaching years, Peter has contributed a lot to his teams.
