Peter DeBoer Family

George Peter DeBoer is a former Canadian ice hockey player turned coach. Born on June 13, 1968, is currently serving as a head coach for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League and also a co-owner of the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Contributing as a coach for more than 13 seasons, Peter has earned the Coach of the Year award twice in the OHL. He took the role of the head coach for multiple teams including Detroit Whalers, Plymouth Whalers, and Kitchener Rangers. During his time with the Kitchener, he led them to win the Memorial Cup in 2003.

Beyond the OHL, Peter took the role of head coach for various other teams in the NHL. He served for the Florida Panthers from 2008 to 2011, the New Jersey Devils from 2011 to 2014, the San Jose Sharks from 2015 to 2019, and the Vegas Golden Knights from 2020 to 2022. Throughout his coaching years, Peter has contributed a lot to his teams.

Peter DeBoer family

Peter DeBoer was born on June 26, 1968,in Dunnville, Canada to a Dutch father Fred DeBoer and Canadian mother, Sylvia DeBoer. His parents supported Peter through all the stages of his life.

His father Fred DeBoer shifted to Canada at the age of 18 years. He worked on a Manitoba farm and later in nickel mines for five years. Sylvia worked as an X-ray technician in a hospital. After the marriage of Peter's parents, they moved to Ontario and established an environmental business. Peter grew up with his younger sister Tanya Chadwell. In addition to Peter's successful coaching career, he has a remarkable educational background.

Peter holds a law degree from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit, graduating from the Dual JD Program. Peter played with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL. After the OHL, he joined the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League (IHL), completing two full seasons. In his final season with them, DeBoer contributed 27 goals and 34 assists with a total of 61 points.

Peter DeBoer, the head coach of the Dallas Stars has achieved considerable success in his professional life. In his personal life, Peter is a loving husband to his wife Susan DeBoer.

Peter and his wife Susan have been together for 27 years. They tied the knot in 1996. Susan has been the pillar for support to her husband Peter who has progressed a lot since then.

Susan and Peter generally keep their personal life private but with a little information about their early life that they met in 1989 when Peter was playing junior hockey. Susan originally belongs to Ontario and she moved with her husband to the USA due to Peter's professional commitment.

The couple have been together since 1996 and the couple have raised three kids together. Their elder daughter Abigail has graduated from high school and is pursuing her career as an athlete. Their son Matt is following the footsteps of his father who has participated in Triple-A Bantam Hockey.

Then another son Jack is enrolled in the United States Hockey Development Program in Ann Arbor. Susan and Peter constantly support their children and encourage them to pursue what they dream of. Susan is a loving mother and supporting wife to Peter, keeping her life away from the media she has spent her life raising three kids and guiding them.
