Minnesota Frost

The Minnesota Frost is a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They are one of the six founding franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). The team signed key players like Kendall Coyne Schofield, Kelly Pannek, and Lee Stecklein and selected Taylor Heise as the first overall pick in the inaugural PWHL Draft. In January 2024, they debuted at Xcel Energy Center with record-breaking attendance and made history by winning their first game against Boston.

The Frost had an impressive inaugural season, clinching the fourth playoff seed and defeating top-ranked Toronto in a stunning semifinal comeback. They won the Walter Cup by beating Boston in a tight five-game series, becoming the league’s first champions. Taylor Heise won playoff MVP honors, while Grace Zumwinkle was named Rookie of the Year. After the season, head coach Ken Klee took on interim GM duties before the team appointed Melissa Caruso as GM in September 2024.
