Ryan attended Central Plains High School in Kansas and was already one of the best prospects during her high school days. As a senior in her high school, Ryan averaged a team-high 27.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 79.6 percent from the field. She achieved a historic feat by the end of her high school career as she became the third player ever to reach 3000 points in the Kansas State Wildcats after Laurie Koehn and Jackie Stiles.
