Vince Russo blasts report, former UFC fighter makes wrestling debut, Impact in Glasgow crowd photo
- Former UFC fighter Matthew Riddle, who has been training at the Monster Factory in New Jersey, made his pro wrestling debut last week. You can check out highlights from his debut in the video below, as well as a preview for his upcoming bout with 6x All American, Billy Damiana.
- As noted earlier, Vince Russo will be heading to Los Angeles next week and will be hosting a Q&A with Lucha Underground ring announcer Melissa Santos. Dave Meltzer noted in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer that Vince Russo is in talks with Lucha Underground and that Executive Producer Eric Van Wagenen was pushing to hire Russo. Van Wagenen denied the report on his Twitter, writing, "The Observer article is wrong. Although I appreciate Mr. Russo's support of @LuchaElRey, I have never met, spoken, or corresponded with VR."
Russo also vehemently denied the story and slammed Meltzer on his website, writing:
"Recently Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer that I am in talks with Lucha Underground's Executive Producer Eric Van Wagenen regarding me joining his company. THIS IS A BOLD-FACE LIE. The fact is, I had never even heard of Eric Van Wagenen until Jeff Lane, the editor of this site, smartened me up to Dave Meltzer's fictitious story this morning."
- TNA President Dixie Carter tweeted the photo below from last month's Impact taping in Glasgow, Scotland, which aired last night on Destination America:
