Trace McSorley was born in Ashburn, Virginia, U.S.A. on 23 August 1995. Trace McSorley went to high school at Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Virginia from 2010 to 2014. He started playing high school football as a freshman. He led his team to a 13-2 record and a state championship in his freshman year. In his junior year, two seasons later he led the team to a 15-0 record and won third state title consecutively.


The Virginia Coaches Association and Virginia Preps named him First-team All-State. In his junior year, he was named Second-team All-Region quarterback. He also secured Dulles District Offensive Player of the Year and was awarded All-Dulles District First Team.


College Career

In 2018, Trace McSorley graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in accounting and he is looking forward to getting his second degree in journalism. He started playing college football at Penn State. It would be insightful to take a deep dive into his college years.


Season 2015: Trace McSorley appeared in 6 games during his redshirt freshman year. He played a few games. In 2016, after starter Christian Hackenberg was injured. In the same season in a match against Minnesota, Trace McSorley recorded career-high yardage numbers. He threw for 335 yards in a 29-26 win.
