Craig Smith is an American forward who currently plays for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Beginning his career with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL), he was a standout player before being selected by the Nashville Predators in the fourth round as the 98th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.

After being drafted, Smith attended the University of Wisconsin and earned a spot on the 2010 Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) All-Rookie Team by finishing ninth in NCAA freshman scoring with 33 points. Smith also played a crucial role in helping the Badgers reach the 2010 NCAA championship game. In the 2010-11 season, as an alternate captain for the Badgers, Smith led the team with 19 goals. He was one of only two collegiate underclassmen to play for the United States at the 2011 IIHF World Championship, where he was named one of the three best U.S. players after scoring a team-high three goals.

Joining the Predators in 2011-12, Smith quickly made an impact with 14 goals and 22 assists in his rookie season. Furthermore, he led the Predators with 24 goals in 2013-14 and recorded a career-high 25 goals in 2017-18. He reached his 400th NHL point in 2022 and played his 800th game later that year. More recently, on July 1, 2023, Smith signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Dallas Stars.
