Deandre Ayton is a Bahamian professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the NBA. He plays as a Power forward/ Centre. Deandre played tuba and soccer before shifting to basketball completely. Ayton was drafted with the first pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns.

Ayton attended Balboa City School in San Diego and later transferred to Hillcrest Prep Academy (Phoenix, Arizona). He was a member of the World Select team at the Nike Hoop Summit in 2016.

Ayton joined the University of Arizona in 2017. He averaged 20.1 points per game with 11.6 rebounds for the Wildcats. He was in the center of controversy during the NCAA Division I men's basketball corruption scandal in 2017-18. At the end of the season, he won the Karl Malone Award and was named as both Freshman and Player of the year in the Pac-12 conference.

Ayton made his Summer League debut in a win over the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged a double-double with 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1 block in four games in summer league 2018 in Las Vegas.

In June 2018, Ayton along with Marvin Bagley signed with Puma, as Puma returns to the basketball market.
