Cole Caufield is an American professional ice hockey winger for the Montreal Canadiens. He was drafted 15th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He signed his entry-level contract in March 2021 and debuted with the Canadiens' AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket. After two AHL games, he was recalled and made his NHL debut on April 26, 2021. He scored his first NHL goal on May 1 and became the third player in NHL history to score his first two goals in overtime.
He played his 100th NHL game in December 2022, scoring his 40th career goal. However, a shoulder injury ended his season early after 46 games, despite 26 goals and 10 assists. In June 2023, he signed an eight-year, $62.8 million contract extension. On February 25, 2025, he reached 200 career points, becoming the fastest Canadiens player to do so in over 30 years.
