Cole Caufield is an American ice hockey professional who is playing for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of December 2024. He started his NHL journey after his selection (15th overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. Before making it to the NHL, he played in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and later for the University of Wisconsin in the 2019-2020 season. Caufield claimed the prestigious Hobey Baker Award and emerged as the top point and goal scorer for the 2020-2021 NCAA season.

Caufield started his NHL journey with the Montreal Canadiens after signing an entry-level contract on March 27, 2021. He scored his first NHL goal on May 1, 2021. Caufield has signed an eight-year extension contract with the Canadiens for $62.8 million.
