Jamie Benn is a Canadian ice hockey left winger, currently serving as the captain of the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was selected as the 129th overall pick by the Stars in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and has remained with them throughout his professional career.


Benn began his junior hockey career with the Peninsula Eagles Minor Hockey Association and the Peninsula Panthers in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL). Furthermore, he also spent parts of three seasons with the Victoria Grizzlies in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) from 2006 to 2008. Transitioning to the WHL, Benn played with the Kelowna Rockets, where he was honored with the CHL Memorial Cup All-Star team selection, West First All-Star Team and also led the team to the Ed Chynoweth Cup victory while being the leading scorer of the competition. He then moved to the NHL with the Dallas Stars and has been with them for around 15 years.
