
Sebastian Aho is a Finnish professional ice hockey player for the Carolina Hurricanes. He made his professional debut with Oulun Kärpät in the Finnish SM-liiga during the 2013–14 season and scored the championship-winning goal in overtime of Game 7 in the 2015 playoffs. Aho was drafted 35th overall by the Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Draft and signed with the team in June 2016. He made his NHL debut in October 2016, scored his first goal in November, and recorded his first career hat trick in January 2017.
In the 2018–19 season, Aho set a franchise record with a 12-game season-opening point streak and earned his first NHL All-Star selection. He led the Hurricanes in scoring during their first playoff appearance in 10 years. In July 2019, Aho signed an offer sheet with the Montreal Canadiens, but the Hurricanes matched it and re-signed him to a five-year, $42.27 million contract. On July 26, 2023, Aho signed an eight-year, $78 million extension with Carolina, starting in the 2024–25 season and running through 2031–32.
