Enrique Freeman is an American basketball player who plays for the Indiana Pacers and the NBA G-League (Noblesville Boom) as of May 2025. After accepting an academic scholarship to play basketball at the University of Akron, Freeman played a five-year basketball career from 2019 to 2024. Freeman grew four inches between his first and second years, and his minutes increased in his sophomore season. During the 2021–22 season, he averaged a double-double for the season with 13.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, leading the nation in field goal percentage at 66.5%. Freeman was also named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year in the 2021-22 collegiate season, and he also led the Akron Zips to a MAC Tournament title, where he was named the tournament MVP.
Freeman became the NCAA rebounding leader in 2024, averaging 12.9 rebounds per game. Freeman was also named the MAC Player of the Year and was once again honored as the MAC Tournament MVP. After an illustrious college career, Enrique Freeman was selected in the 2024 NBA Draft as the 50th overall pick in the second round by the Indiana Pacers.
