Wendell Carter Jr. is an American center/power forward currently signed with the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before the NBA, Carter Jr. played college basketball for Duke, where he was named on the ACC All-Freshman Teams in 2018. He averaged 13.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in college.

After forgoing his final three seasons of collegiate eligibility, Carter Jr. was picked by the Chicago Bulls seventh overall in 2018. After three seasons in Chicago, he was traded to the Orlando Magic, where he has established himself as one of the main players on the roster. In the 2022/23 season, Carter Jr. averaged a career-high in points (15.2), along with 8.7 rpg.

In his sophomore high school season, Carter Jr. helped his team win the Georgia 6AA regional title after averaging 21.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.

He averaged 21.6 points per game and 13.6 rebounds per game as a junior, leading the Pace Academy to the 2016 Georgia class AA state Championship. His success was followed by numerous accolades including an honorable mention All-American by the Naismith Trophy, a first-team Junior All-American by MaxPreps, the Georgia Class AA Player of the Year, and the Atlanta/South Fulton Player of the Year.

In his senior season, Carter Jr. averaged 22.7 points and 15.5 rebounds and was named the Georgia All-Classification Player of the Year and the Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year. He graduated from high school as a five-star recruit.
