The Abierto Mexicano de Tenis MIFEL or the Los Cabos Open is an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour competition of 250 points. The hard-court tournament is played every year.
The tournament was first played in 2016 and the 2018 Los Cabos Open is the third edition of the tournament. The total prize money of the tournament is $715,455.
In 2018, the tournament was played from July 30 to August 4 at Cabo Del Mar, BCS in Mexico. The tournament featured 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams.
Los Cabos Open's total financial commitment ($808,770) is the highest among the ATP 250 points tournament in the American region.
In the previous edition in August 2017, American giant Sam Querrey defeated unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3,3-6,6-2 to win the 250-point Men’s singles title. Kokkinakis earlier had beaten top seed Tomas Berdych in the semi-final.
In the Men’s doubles, the second seed Juan Sebastian Cabal and Treat Huey had an easy outing in the final against Sergio Galdos and Roberto Maytin. The Colombian and the Filipino pair won the match by 6-2,6-3.
