FAQs
The NFL playoffs are composed of 14 teams. Seven teams from each conference (AFC & NFC) qualify for the playoffs.
The NFL playoffs have three rounds which are the Wild Card round, the Divisional round, and the Conference round before the all-important Super Bowl.
Teams that do not win their division but still qualify for the NFL playoffs are called the Wild Card teams.
There have been occasions when Wild Card teams have gone on to win the Super Bowl. The most recent one came in 2020 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off the incredible feat.
Unlike other sports leagues in the United States, the NFL playoffs have only 1 game per round, where the winner advances to the next round.
The NFL consists of 4 divisions in the AFC and 4 in the NFC. In the AFC, the divisions are divided as the AFC East, AFC West, AFC North and AFC South. Similarly, the NFC has the NFC East, NFC West, NFC North, and NFC South.
