ABOUT

Markelle Fultz is an American professional basketball player who plays as a guard for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, with the first pick in the 2017 NBA draft.

Fultz attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. In 2016 he played in both McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic Games. In the same year, he won the gold medal with the USA national team at FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship and was awarded MVP.

For college, Fultz went to the University of Washington. He was named in First-team All-Pac-12 and Third-team All-American in 2017 after averaging 23.2 points per game.

Due to scapular muscle imbalance in his shoulder, his shooting was hampered during his rookie season due to which he only played 14 games during the regular season but later on, his new trainer described his problem as yips and not a shoulder injury. He returned to court on 26 March 2018 against the Denver Nuggets with an altered shooting style. On April 11, 2018, he became the youngest (19 years) player in NBA history to drop a triple-double.
