Frances Tiafoe is a well-known tennis superstar from America. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of No. 10 in June 2023 and is ranked No. 30 by the ATP as of May 2024. He is the third African American to reach the top 10 of the ATP rankings. Tiafoe has won three ATP singles titles in his career so far, including the 2018 Delray Beach Open, the 2023 Stuttgart Open, and the 2023 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships.


Tiafoe's best grand slam performance was registered at the 2022 US Open, where he reached the semifinal. He was a talented junior player. He won the 2013 Orange Bowl at the age of 15 and became the tournament's youngest-ever boys' singles champion. Tiafoe made his grand slam debut in the French Open at the of 17, in 2015, becoming the youngest American to play in the main draw of the Roland-Garros since Michael Chang in 1989.

Frances Tiafoe's family members are his parents, Constant Tiafoe and Alphina Kamara, and Frances's twin brother Franklin Tiafoe. He was born on January 20, 1998, in Hyattsville, Maryland, United States. Tiafoe's parents were immigrants from Sierra Leone, his father came to the USA in 1993, and his mother came in 1996.


Frances's father, Constant Tiafoe, took up the job of a worker at the Junior National Tennis Centre. Since he could not afford a place to live, the center officials provided him with a small space in the tennis center. Frances's mother, Alpina Kamara, worked as a nurse at a hospital and also did a part-time job. Since Frances and his twin brother Franklin had to live with their father at the tennis center, they developed an interest in playing tennis at the age of 4 years.


Tiafoe's brother, Franklin, is also a tennis player but cannot reach the same level as his brother. As a result, he started working for Howard University as a tennis coach and provided training to students in college.

Seeing his dedication toward tennis, Misha Kouznetsov started training Frances Tiafoe and even sponsored him to play at junior championships. Also, Tiafoe and his twin brother played tennis at DeMatha High School in Maryland.
