Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic was born on May 22, 1987, and is considered by many the greatest player of all time. He is ranked No. 5 in the world in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as of March 2025. He has held the No. 1 spot for an incredible 428 weeks, which is a record, as of March 2025. He has also been the year-end No. 1 eight times. Djokovic is the only player in history to have won each major at least thrice. This has only been done by male players on three different types of courts. He's also achieved a rare triple Career Grand Slam in singles, which means he won each of the four major tournaments at least three times. He is also the only player in history who has won all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments.

Djokovic won a total of 24 Grand Slams as of March 2025, including 10 Australian Open titles, which is also a record in men’s tennis history. He has a total of 99 ATP singles titles, including 24 Majors and 40 Masters 1000 events. He's also won the Nitto ATP Finals six times, a record he shares with Roger Federer. In 2024, Djokovic achieved a significant milestone by winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, defeating Carlos Alcaraz by 7–6(7–3), 7–6(7–2). He then partnered with long-time rival Andy Murray as his coach for the 2025 season. Djokovic started the 2025 tennis season by reaching his 50th major singles semifinal at the Australian Open by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals by 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4. In the next round, he lost to Alexander Zverev. At the 2025 Miami Open, he outcasted Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals and will face Jakub Mensik in the final for his seventh Miami Open title.

Novak Djokovic Diet

Novak Djokovic has been following a plant-based diet as of March 2025 (via Plant Based News). He doesn't eat animal foods. However, he doesn't like to be called a 'vegan,' as he feels the word can be misinterpreted. In a 2022 interview with Graham Bensinger, he said he stopped eating animal products because he had allergies since he was a kid. Doctors discovered he was allergic primarily to gluten, dairy and sugar. So, he also avoids foods with gluten. He talked about how his new diet helped him in his sports. Djokovic also shared that he stopped eating red meat because it was hard for his stomach to digest.

Djokovic starts with three drinks every morning: hot water with lemon, celery juice, and a green smoothie with 'superfoods.' He thinks these help his brain work better. He often eats big salads with healthy grains like quinoa, wild rice and sweet potato for lunch and dinner. This gives him the energy and nutrients he needs to do well in matches (via Plant Based News).

Djokovic has even co-produced a documentary called Game Changers, as per Plant Based News. It is about how plant-based diets are suitable for men and athletes. He also said he doesn't eat foods that take a long time to digest. He prefers to eat light things.
