Jimmy Vesey is an American professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to transitioning to the NHL, Vesey honed his skills at Harvard University, where he had a stellar career with the Harvard Crimson men's ice hockey team, where he scored a total of 144 points in 128 games. Moreover, he was named ECAC Player of the Year after the 2014–15 season and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award that year and ultimately won it the following year. Taking notice of his talents, he was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

However, after completing his college career at Harvard University, Vesey chose not to sign an entry-level contract with the Predators. Instead, he opted to become a free agent. This allowed him to sign with any NHL team once his rights with Nashville expired. Remarkably, he chose to sign with the New York Rangers as a free agent in August 2016, giving him the opportunity to choose his preferred team rather than being bound to the one that drafted him. Since then, Vesey has played with the Rangers (first stint), Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils, and now again with the Rangers in his second stint with them.
