Julian Phillips, an emerging basketball player, was born on November 5, 2003. He was born in Killeen, Texas, United States. Julian is a college basketball player for the Tennessee Volunteers of the Southeastern Conference.

Julian was admitted to Blythewood High School in Blythewood, South Carolina. By the end of his senior year, he became the No. 1 Prospect in the state of South Carolina. Julian then moved to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, to advance to prep ball.

At the start of his senior season, Julian decided to play college basketball for LSU after denying offers from Tennessee, Florida State and USC. He committed to play under the head coach Will Wade, but the coach was fired from the team.

Shortly after the suspension of the coach, Julian requested a release from his National Letter of Intent (NLI), which was granted to him. Julian became a free agent after the release. He was selected to play at Tennessee over Auburn and South Carolina. Moreover, Julian gained professional basketball experience by playing in the NBA G League.

Julian primarily played as a small forward at Tennessee. He was named to the 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis All-Tournament team during his first year. Julian averaged 8.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game over 32 games with 25 starts. Following the freshman season, Julian declared for the 2023 NBA draft.

Julian Phillips, a small forward at Tennessee, received an offer of $800,000 from the NBA G League in 2022. He rejected this deal and committed to play college-level basketball at Tennessee. Julian officially announced his decision on CBS Sports HQ and spoke highly about the head coach of Rick Barnes.

Julian Phillips explained the skills of Rick Barnes on CBS Sports HQ. Julian said, “Rick Barnes, he has a history with great wings”. He said, “I have a great relationship with him. Overall, he is a great guy, and I would be very happy to play for him.”
