Josh Evan Christopher is an American professional basketball player for the NBA franchise Miami Heat. The 2001-born shooting guard is on a two-way contract with the Heat as he also plays with their G League affiliate the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA G League. Christopher was drafted as the 24th overall pick in the NBA draft of 2021 by the Houston Rockets. The California-born Christopher played his High School ball at Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California, as per his roster profile on the NBA G League website. He played college basketball for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Christopher started all 15 games he played at ASU and averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Christopher spent two seasons with the Houston Rockets and the 6’4” guard made his official NBA debut on October 20 where he came off the bench and scored five points in eight minutes in a loss against the Timberwolves.

Josh Christopher appeared in 138 official NBA games for the Rockets. He was then traded to the Memphis Grizzlies before being released and subsequently signed a two-way deal with the Utah Jazz which expired in January 2024. After which he joined Sioux Falls Skyforce and then in July 2024, He signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat. During his interview with the NBA G League, the California-born guard revealed his nickname “Jaygup” and labelled Toy Story 2 as his favourite movie.

His sister Paris, played college basketball for Saint Mary's. His other brother Caleb, was a player for both Arizona State University and Tennessee Tech.
