Dustin Poirier is an acclaimed American professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed with the leading professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Louisiana-born fighter rides high on a long career that spans one and a half decades in which he has fought whose who in professional mixed martial arts and defeated some of the biggest names in the business.

Dustin Poirier ventured into professional mixed martial arts on May 16, 2009, against Aaron Suarez at USA MMA 7: River City Rampage. He made quick work of Suarez and finished him by a first-round knockout to start his career on a winning note.

Dustin Poirier fought in multiple fight promotions after making his professional debut. He had an impressive record in the World Extreme Cagefighting. In October 2010, WEC merged with the UFC, and all the fighters on the WEC’s rosters were transferred to UFC, including Dustin Poirier. He made his promotional debut on the new promotion on January 1, 2011, against Josh Grispi at UFC 125. Poirier won the fight by a unanimous decision.

Since becoming a part of the UFC, Dustin Poirier has regularly competed in the promotion. He is the former interim UFC lightweight champion and is scheduled to headline UFC 302 alongside the reigning lightweight king, Islam Makhachev, in a lightweight title showdown.

Dustin Poirier’s body is full of multiple tattoos that range from having personal significance to adding aesthetic value to his appearance. On the right side of his chest, Poirier has the name of his daughter, Parker Noelle, tattooed on it. On his right shoulder, Dustin Poirier has a rose with colorful petals rushing down.

Dustin Poirier has tiger stripes inscribed on the left side of the chest that read ‘bushido’ meaning “the way of the warriors.” On the right upper arm, Poirier has black bands covering up an old tattoo. He has “Phoenix” embossed on the inner side of the right bicep, signifying resurrection.

Dustin Poirier has a constellation of stars inked with orange and red flames, showing his connection with God. He has the name of Jesus imprinted on his right forearm, showcasing his faith in Christianity. He also supports a tattoo of Jesus on the cross on his body.

Dustin Poirier also has the name of his mother, Deann, tattooed in the middle of his right arm. He also pays tribute to his grandmother by having her name, Glenda, tattooed on his right wrist. Dustin Poirier has several other tattoos that signify his commitment to his faith, fighting spirit, and more.
