ROH COO Joe Koff on if ROH is in competition with TNA, increased exposure with Destination America
Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff said his company can easily co-exist with TNA on Destination America. Speaking with Pro Wrestling Senior Writer Al Castle on The PWI Podcast, Koff said that he's been in talks with Destination America since November, trying to sell the Discovery Communications channel on the idea that all parties would benefit from a three-hour wrestling block.
"TNA and Ring of Honor together are more formidable than either of us are by ourselves. And I'm not suggesting that we're going to usurp any of that audience, but you know what, there's room for all of us, and the fact that TNA's on TV and the fact that we have an existing program that's now going to be run on Destination America is good for the business. I'm not in competition with TNA - we're in the same space."
Koff went into detail about the origins of the DA deal, his thoughts on the relative positions of ROH and TNA in the wrestling business, how a network deal fits in with ROH's existing business model, and how the company will benefit from the increased national exposure.
"We're a four-year overnight success," Koff joked.
