Ronda Rousey is one of the greatest female MMA fighters of all time. Arguably the second greatest of all time behind Amanda Nunes, Rousey has cemented herself as a legend in MMA. She is the last Strikeforce women’s Bantamweight champion and the first UFC women’s champion in the bantamweight category.

“Rowdy” has fought in a total of 14 professional fights, winning 12, mostly by submission. A 6th Dan black belt in Kodokan Judo, Rousey is also the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in Judo. She won the Bronze medal in the 70kg weight class in 2008 in the Beijing Olympics.

Ronda is known for her stellar performances in the octagon. Being a master of Kodokan Judo, she is superbly skilled at grappling and grounding opponents. Over the years she has also developed into a proficient striker, and now has a more complete arsenal whenever she steps into the ring.

3. ‘Protected by God’

Meaning: The laurel wreath is a symbol of Olympic victory. It was also one of the logos for the 2004 Olympics. 2004 was the first time Rousey took part in the Olympics. She was the youngest American Judo fighter at 17 years old.

6. ‘Citius, Altius, Fortius’ Tattoo
