The Philadelphia Stars have a good chance of winning the championship title at the end of the 2023 USFL season. Having made it to the championship game against Birmingham Stallions in the 2022 season, the Philadelphia Stars look to claim a victory in the final game in the upcoming season.
The Stars have been able to retain their highest-performing stars such as Matt Colburn ll, Bug Howard and Case Cookus among others. These players were leaders in the stat lines within the team. They have also made what is considered to be a major move for the team, with the signing of Wide Reciever Samuel Akem.
While the Stars have managed their roster build for the 2023 season very well, other teams have upgraded their respective teams to make themselves contenders to be the team that emerges victorious at the end of the season.
What is the Philadelphia Stars’ Win-Loss Record
While the 2023 season is yet to start, the Panther’s record last season was 6-4 (6 wins to 4 losses). They finished 2nd in the North Division of the league, outclassing the Michigan Panthers and Pittsburgh Maulers in terms of a win-loss record.
The Stars qualified for postseason contention. While they won the Division Finals against New Jersey Generals, the team that finished at the top of the North Division at the end of the season, the Stars were unable to grab one final win to be crowned as winners of the league championship. They lost the championship game against the Birmingham Stallions.
Where can I watch the Philadelphia Stars’ games?
All games of the USFL will be streamed nationally by Fox Sports and NBC sports. Viewers can also try FuboTV and Hulu Live TV to watch the Stars’ games.
Who is the owner of the Philadelphia Stars
The Philadelphia Stars were owned by a real estate developer named Myles Tanenbaum from 1983 to 1985. When the league collapsed in 1985, Tanenbaum went on to invest in and own other minor league teams such as the Atlantic City Seagulls of the United States Basketball League. The Philadelphia Stars are currently owned by National Football League Enterprises Co, LLC, (Fox Sports).
How much did the Philadelphia Stars Cost to Buy
USFL teams do not have individual owners as a result of which it is unknown how much each team may cost to purchase. FOX Sports, the sports media division of Fox Corporations, revived and administered the league with an investment of $150 million and is the owner of the entire league.
How many championships have the Philadelphia Stars won?
The Philadelphia Stars won the league championship twice in 1984 and 1985, making them the most successful team at that time period. In the revived edition of the league, the Stars won the North Division and proceeded to play the championship game against the Birmingham Stallions. However, the team lost the championship game, deeming them as being unsuccessful in winning a championship in the revived edition of the league.
