Robredo sets up Dimitrov tie in Marrakech
On Monday, the top two seeds at the Grand Prix Hassan II discovered who they will face in their first matches in Marrakech.
Former champion Tommy Robredo will face top seed Grigor Dimitrov in round two of the Grand Prix Hassan II after overcoming Sergiy Stakhovsky in straight sets.
Veteran Robredo, the winner of this event in 2013, advanced with a 6-4 6-4 victory in Marrakech, but will be an underdog against Dimitrov, the world number 12.
Like Dimitrov, second seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas learned on Monday who he will begin the tournament against, following a first-round bye.
Qualifier Laslo Djere set up a meeting with the Spaniard by beating Martin Klizan 7-6 (7-3) 6-3.
There were also first-round wins on the opening day of the ATP 250 clay-court event for Jan-Lennard Struff and Radu Albot, who beat Taro Daniel and Nicolas Almagro respectively.
