Jarrett Culver: A Brief Biography

Jaret Culver is a American professional basketball player playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played his college basketball at Texas Tech.


Culver was a three star recruit playing out of Coronado high school in Lubbock. He averaged 20 points per game as a junior, leading his team to the 6A regional semifinals. He committed to Texas Tech after having offers from several other NCAA Division I programs, including Baylor, and Illinois.


Culver played 2 years at Texas Tech. He broke out in his sophomore year emerging as the team's leading scorer. He scored 18.5 points 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He was named to the consensus second team All-American. He was the part of first team all Big 12 and was named the Big 12 player of the year in 2019.


Culver was selected as the sixth pick of the 2019 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns. However, his draft rights were immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is a young talent who played over 60 games for Timberwolves in the 2019-20 season but still needs to develop a lot to truly fulfill his potential.
