Dana Frederick White Jr. was born on July 28, 1969, in Manchester, Connecticut, United States. He spent his childhood in Las Vegas, Nevada. White gained a high school education at Bishop Gorman High School, and in his youth, he developed considerable enthusiasm for boxing. Although White's foray into the fight business began when he opened his own boxing gym in Boston. In 2001, White, along with friends Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta, bought the then-struggling UFC for $2 million.

Under White's leadership as President, not only did this organization and sports make it very big, but the UFC increased in value to the billion-dollar mark. The growth of the once-niche sport can be accredited to White due to his style and methods of promoting events effectively. According to People Magazine, Savannah White, born in 2006, is the youngest child of UFC President Dana White and his wife, Anne. She has two older brothers, Dana III and Aidan. Referred to as a "miracle baby," Savannah's birth came after her mother was informed she couldn't have more children. As of 2024, Savannah is 18 years old.

According to People Magazine, White has described raising a daughter as "tougher". He further explained that "natural" instinct to look out for her. Savannah has maintained a private life, away from the public eye. In 2022, for her 16th birthday, Dana threw her a lavish party at Jewel nightclub in Las Vegas, featuring performances by artists like Lil Uzi Vert and DaBaby, as per People Magazine.
