Giants place Cueto on 10-day DL with elbow injury
An elbow injury to Johnny Cueto added to the San Francisco Giants' pitching woes.
The San Francisco Giants simply cannot escape injuries to their starting pitchers this year, with Johnny Cueto the latest to be sidelined.
San Francisco announced on Tuesday they had placed Cueto on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
"We are getting our heads wrapped around it now," Giants general manager Bobby Evans told The Athletic. "We're still trying to understand where he's at."
Evans also said it was something Cueto has been dealing with for a couple of starts.

Cueto joins Jeff Samardzija (strained pec) and Madison Bumgarner (broken finger) as Giants pitchers to already serve time on the disabled list this season.
The 32-year-old pitcher currently leads MLB in starter ERA (0.84) and is second in WHIP (0.69).
