Josh Okogie is a professional basketball player who plays for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. Born on September 1, 1998, Okogie attended Shiloh High School in Snellville and college basketball at Georgia Tech. He averaged 16.1 points per game as a freshman and was named to the All-ACC Freshman team.

After two seasons in college, Okogie declared for the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected with the 20th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his rookie NBA season, Okogie played 74 games, starting in 52, and averaged 7.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

In 2018, after Jimmy Butler was traded from Minnesota, Okogie got more minutes. In the 2021/22 season, he was a key part of the Timberwolves rotation as they made the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

In the 2022 offseason, Okogie was traded to the Phoenix Suns. Coming off the bench for a championship contending team, he averaged 7.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 72 regular season games in the 2022/23 season. He shot 39.1%, including 33.5% from deep.

Okogie has also been a longtime member of the Nigerian National Team, helping them to upset victories over the United States and Argentina in pre-Olympic exhibitions in 2021, ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. Alongside Suns teammate Deandre Ayton, Okogie will hope to lead Nigeria to more historic wins moving forward.

Now entering his sixth NBA season at just 25 years old, Okogie will be looking for a title push with the Suns alongside superstars Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
