Juan Alberto Hernangomez Geuer was born in Spain on 28 September 1995. Hernangomez is also renowned for his role in the movie Hustle, directed by Adam Sandler. Juancho is the lead character.
Juancho was selected as the 15th pick of the 2016 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets. He had some great performances in his rookie season when he scored a season-high of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Playing with the Nuggets, he was also assigned to their G league team Sioux Falls Skyforce. His sophomore year was not the best as he was limited to playing 25 games that season.
Hernangomez played for many teams throughout his career. The next season was another rollercoaster for Hernangomez. He was out of shape during training and contracted covid-19. This made him lose his spot in the starting lineup and fell out with the Timberwolves. He also got disallowed from participating in the 2021 Olympics with Spain after going through an injury during an exhibition game.
The quality he once exuded in Minnesota slipped through his fingers and when the Raptors waived him in February 2023, it was clear that Juancho’s struggle to secure an NBA spot had become a heartbreaking reality.
Juancho Hernangomez Height
Juancho Hernangomez has a height of 6 ft 9 inches.
He was considered to be a three-point threat but then struggled to be a consistent shooter in the league. Out of his seven seasons, he managed to surpass the 40 per cent mark in three of them. With his third season with the Denver Nuggets standing as fourth best, connecting at 36.5 percent. It wasn't just long-range where Juancho stumbled, his field goal percentage throughout his career was at 42.8. He struggled in making a name for himself as an individual player.
Many players come and go in the league. The competition is tough and Juancho stuck through the process for many years. Even though he isn't part of the league any more, he has accomplished something that many can't. Coming from a different country, he has shown incredible talent and maturity in his game. Maybe the problem was him not getting to fully commit and get used to a particular team as he changed teams throughout his career and the injuries he faced that caused him to miss out on seasons where he was making a difference.
