The Pelicans acquired him on February 7, 2019, in a three-team trade, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons. Later, on July 11, 2019, Johnson entered the camp of the Toronto Raptors. In the 4th quarter against the 76ers in the 2019-20 season, Stanley hit his first-ever game-winning shot with 4.9 seconds remaining. In a victory against the Denver Nuggets on August 4, 2020, Johnson collected a season-high 23 points. He secured a career-high 35 points in a loss to the Chicago Bulls on May 13, 2021.

Stanley Johnson signed with the Chicago Bulls on September 8, 2021. He played only four preseason games for the Bulls before getting waived by the team on October 16. Later, he signed with the South Bay Lakers on November 15. Johnson appeared in six games for his new club and averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. With a 10-day contract, Stanley joined the Chicago Bulls on December 9, 2021. However, he didn’t play a single game for the side.

Later, Stanley Johnson joined his hometown team, the Los Angeles Lakers, under a 10-day contract on December 24, 2021. He signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on January 26, 2022. He was traded to the Utah Jazz on August 25 and was waived on October 15. Johnson signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce on December 8 and then the San Antonio Spurs on December 12. The Sioux Falls Skyforce reacquired Stanley on February 14, 2023.

Stanley Johnson attended Mater Dei High School. It was a private Catholic co-educational secondary school based in Santa Ana. In fact, he was the top high school recruit in 2014 by ESPN, Rivals.com, and Scout.com. At the school, Stanley was a 4-time CIF state champion.
