Jeffery Bernard Simmons Jr is a professional American football defensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans in the NFL as of the 2024 season. The Tennessee Titans drafted Simmons with the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. Simmons was placed on the reserve list following his torn ACL in 2019 and concluded his debut season with seven starts while recording two sacks and 32 tackles. In 2020, Simmons hauled three sacks, a forced fumble and 49 tackles. The following season, Simmons started all 17 games and finished the season with 8.5 sacks and 54 tackles. The Titans exercised the fifth-year option of Simmons’ contract in 2022. In April of 2023, Simons extended his contract with the Titans for four more years. During the 2023 season, prior to being placed on the injured reserve he recorded 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble and 44 tackles.

Simmons committed to Mississippi State University for collegiate football. Simmons started three games while playing in 12, and with that, he received the Freshman All-SEC honors his freshman season. During his sophomore season, he was chosen for the 2017 SEC football All-SEC team. Following his junior season, Simmons declared that he would enter the NFL draft for 2019. Prior to college, Simmons attended Noxubee County High School where he was considered the No. 01 player in the state of Mississippi, according to the Official Website of Mississippi State Athletics.
