Born on July 18, 1997, in New Jersey, USA, Adebayo initially attended the High Point Christian School to start his high school basketball career. In 2016, he won the North Carolina Mr. Basketball title and was also selected to play in the McDonald All-American game. Later, he went to the Kentucky Wildcats to play college basketball, and after winning several accolades there, he declared for the 2017 NBA draft.
Adebayo was selected as the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. Over the eight seasons with the Miami Heat, Adebayo is averaging 15.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
