Bojan Bogdanović is a Croatian professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA as of November 2024. He is 6 feet and 7 inches tall and weighs 226 lbs as per his NBA profile. He was born in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and started his basketball journey in 2004 with the local club Zrinjski Mostar. By 2005, he had the opportunity to play for Real Madrid. He bounced around some teams before declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft.

In 2011, Bogdanović was picked in the second round with the 31st overall pick by the Miami Heat, who subsequently sent him to the New Jersey Nets. He played for the Nets till 2017. He won a nomination for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2015 and began his journey of continuous improvement in the NBA. He averaged 9.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game in his rookie season, but soon stepped it up to 11.2 points per game in 2015-16 and then to 14.2 points per game in the 2016-17 season. His best sting was with the Detroit Pistons in 2022-23, where he averaged 21.6 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game, and was a starter in all of the 59 games he played that season.

March 14, 2022 – April 10, 2022 (Utah Jazz)

The first one of his major injuries in the NBA came on March 14, 2022, as he strained his left calf mid-game. As a result, he missed nine straight games and returned to action on April 10, 2022, as per Basketball Reference. He made his return against the Los Angeles Lakers and played 22 minutes.

March 04, 2023 – April 09, 2023 (Detroit Pistons)

He also suffered from a bilateral Achilles tendinopathy injury on March 4, 2023, as part of the Detroit Pistons squad and missed 19 games as per Basketball Reference. This long absence meant that he was not able to finish the season.

October 25, 2023 – December 01, 2023 (Detroit Pistons)

On October 25, 2023, the Pistons announced that Bogdanović would remain out due to a low-grade right calf strain as per Michigan Live. After his long absence due to the Achilles injury, this added a more complex layer of problems for both him and his team. The injury made him miss 19 games at the start of the season. He returned to play on December 01, 2023, under a minute’s restriction.

October 23, 2024 – TBD (Brooklyn Nets)

Bogdanović suffered a foot injury on October 23, 2024, which put him in an uncertain state for the remainder of the season. He even missed the training camp before the official NBA season. In addition to that, the lack of a timetable for return put even more skepticism into his ability to return for the season. As of November 2024, there are no updates on his potential return.
