In the 2020 NBA Draft, Isaiah Stewart was drafted with the 16th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was later traded to the Houston Rockets, and then to the Detroit Pistons in exchange of Christian Wood. In July 2023, Stewart agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Pistons worth $64 million.

Isaiah Stewart College

Isaiah Stewart attended the University of Washington for one season. He selected Washington because of his relationship with coach Mike Hopkins.

Stewart recognized that Washington will give him better chances to develop as a player. He was confident that the university's basketball program would help him polish his skills and prepare him for a professional career in the NBA.

As a freshman at the University of Washington, Stewart quickly proved his worth. In one season in college, Stewart averaged 17.0 points, 8.8 rebounds per game and 2.1 blocks per game. He was named to the First-Team All-Pac-12 and won the Mr. Basketball USA in 2019.
