Paolo Banchero is amongst one of the best young talents in the NBA. Born on November 12, 2002 in Seattle, Washington and at just 21 years of age, he is playing his second NBA season.

Banchero was born to an Italian father, who played college football, and an African-American mother, who was an all-time scoring leader in college. She also played professional basketball. Banchero followed in his mother’s footsteps and chose to play for the United States over Italy.

Banchero played high school basketball for O’Dea High School, where he helped his team win the Class 3A state championship and earned Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performances. He received MaxPrep Junior of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year and was named to the Jordan Brand Classic and McDonald’s All-American Game.

Paolo Banchero went on to play college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. He was one of the top players of the 2021 class and a consensus five-star recruit. Banchero won first Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week, ACC Rookie of the Year while playing for his college and was named to the All-ACC and Third Team All-American.
