Paul Reed, a basketball power forward for the Detroit Pistons, was born on June 14, 1999. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 58th pick in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft. In the 2021-22 season, he also played for the 76ers NBA G affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. He was the Blue Coats' 2021 MVP and Rookie of the Year during the league's shortened single-site G League season. However, after four seasons with the 76ers, he was waived and picked up by the Pistons off the waiver wire in July 2024. As of the 2023-24 season in the NBA, he played in 215 games, starting 28, averaging 5.1 points, 0.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds.

Reed went to Wekiva High School and graduated as a three-star recruit, committing to DePaul University in 2017. In his sophomore year, he won the Big East Most Improved Player. After averaging 15.1 points and placing second in the conference in rebounds (10.7), blocks (2.6), and steals (1.9) at the end of the regular season, he was selected to the Second Team All-Big East. For the season, he had 18 double-doubles. In his three seasons of college, he played in 93 games, starting 58, averaging 10.6 points, 1.0 assists and 7.5 rebounds.
