The 6-foot-5 shooting guard, Ja’Kobe Walter played collegiate basketball for Baylor University. He grew up in McKinney, Texas, and was a five-star recruit coming off a successful high school season. During his high school years, Walter was named to the 2023 McDonald's All-American team and played at the Nike Hoop Summit.

As one of the top prospects in the 2023 college class, Walter performed well above expectations. In his only season, he made an instant impact, averaging 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. He was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Year and was also selected for the All-Big 12 team. In the NCAA March Madness, Walter averaged 19.5 points and five rebounds although the Bears were knocked out in the second round by Clemson.

Walter is being scouted as a 3-and-D perimeter threat, excelling at hitting threes in catch-and-shoot scenarios as well as off the dribble. He led Baylor University in points per game during his freshman season, displaying his high-volume scoring capabilities. His athleticism and agility allow him to defend multiple positions from one to three, while his lengthy wingspan helps in forcing turnovers.
