Asante hails from Alexandria, Virginia. He attended Westfield High School in Chantilly, Virginia. He lettered for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team from 2019 to 2021. Appearing in 36 games for the Tar Heels, recording 62 tackles and two for loss over three seasons. He transferred to Auburn in 2022 and played there until the end of the 2024 season. At Auburn, he accumulated 134 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in 29 games. Over his career, he recorded 196 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. He was the 2023 DC Touchdown Club Player of the Week, CFN, and Phil Steele All-SEC third team selection. He was an All-SEC First Team (FBSIS) selection in 2024 and was a third-team selection by SEC coaches, SEC media, and Athlon. Asante also participated in the 2025 Senior Bowl.
