Jeremiah "JJ" J'veon Pegues is an American football defensive tackle for the Ole Miss Rebels. Before joining Ole Miss, he played for the Auburn Tigers from 2020 to 2021. He was one of 329 prospects invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, listing 6'2.5" and 309 lbs. His Next Gen Stats score of 65 puts him in the "average" category, according to the official site of the NFL.

JJ Pegues started his college career at Auburn University in 2020 as a tight end. Over two seasons, he played 24 games. As a freshman, he recorded seven receptions for 57 yards. By the spring of 2021, he had switched to the defensive line. In January 2022, he moved to Ole Miss, returning to his hometown of Oxford. As per the Ole Miss roster, in 2022, he recorded 26 tackles, including five for loss, along with three sacks, two pass deflections, and a receiving touchdown. Pegues started 12 of 13 games in 2023 and delivered career-high numbers- 42 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and four pass breakups. Ahead of the 2024 season, Pegues named the recipient of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award. Over his collegiate career, he played in 62 games, with 25 starts, and had 126 total tackles (62 solo) and 28.5 tackles for loss, as per his Ole Miss roster page.
