Jonathan Taylor is an American football running back for the Indianapolis Colts in the 2024 NFL season. The Colts selected Taylor as the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. According to Spotrac, he signed a three-year contract extension with team in 2023, worth $42 million. As of Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season, Taylor has recorded 5,493 rushing yards and 45 rushing touchdowns. He also recorded 138 receptions for 1,077 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns. Notably, he was named to the Pro Bowl and won the Bert Bell Award in 2021. He was also selected for the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2020.
Taylor was born in Salem, New Jersey, and attended Salem High School, where he played high school football and recorded 4,642 rushing yards and 51 touchdowns. After high school, he committed to playing collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. According to Sports Reference, he concluded his collegiate career with 6,174 rushing yards, 50 touchdowns and 42 receptions for 407 yards. He won the Doak Walker Award and was a unanimous first-team All-American in 2018 and 2019 respectively. He also earned First-team All-Big Ten honors thrice from 2017 to 2019.
