Once the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Irina traveled to Germany to compete at tournaments on the ITF circuit.

Mrs. Zverev reached five singles finals on the ITF circuit, out of which three were in Germany and two of were in Greece. An interesting fact about her career was that she won her last runners-up trophy against Apostoli Tsitsipas, who is Stefanos Tsitsipas’ mother.
