Sporty Solutionz moves court against Badminton Association of India

NEW DELHI, October 29. – Sporty SolutionzPvt Limited, brand owners and commercial partners for the Indian Badminton League, have moved a fresh petition in the Delhi High Court to protect their intellectual property rights. SSPL, who had invested heavily to deliver a highly successful season 1 and create the brand IBL, have pled in the court for protection of their Intellectual Property rights.

“We on behalf of our clients, M/s Sporty SolutionzPvt Ltd have applied for the protection of Intellectual Property Rights of our clients. We have invested heavily to build the Brand IBL. This is also associated with our goodwill. We have pleaded in the Honourable High Court of Delhi to restrict any other party from using the name, logo, title or any Intellectual Property associated with Brand Indian Badminton League or IBL,” says SportySolutionz Counsel, Mr Sanjeev Kumar.

The first edition of the IBL was conducted in Six Indian cities between August 14 to 31, 2013, in six India cities – Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Pune. The inaugural edition of the league was won by PVP Hyderabad. Thereafter, the league was not allowed to happen by the BAI in 2014 and 2015.
