Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes calls him the greatest ever

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly revealed in a recent interview that the Portuguese captain will finish his club career at Real Madrid and that he will not be leaving the Madrid club anytime soon.

There has been a lot of intense speculation over the last season or so, linking Ronaldo with a return to his former club Manchester United. However, Mendes’ comments in an interview with Globo Esporte have moved to dispel any notions anyone had of seeing the Madrid superstar making the move to Manchester United.

His agents’ comments clearly indicate he will stay at Real Madrid. He said, "I believe that Cristiano will finish his career at Real Madrid. He's happy at the club and is still keen to achieve more success in Madrid."

“Impossible for anyone to emulate him”

He went on to say that Ronaldo is the greatest player to have played for Real Madrid and suggested that the club retire his number 7 jersey once he retires. He had this to say about the entire issue:

"I respect great players like Raul and [Alfredo] Di Stefano, but none of them compare to Cristiano Ronaldo," he added. "Cristiano is the greatest ever. It will be impossible for anyone to emulate him in the future. There's just such a gulf between him and second best.”

"Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off Real Madrid's transformation. Five or six years ago, the team were not as good as they are now. They weren't Barcelona, whom everybody considered the greatest team ever."
