Arsenal’s dismal start to the season in competitions apart from the Premier League continued as they were defeated by Southampton in the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup at the Emirates stadium.

After a beautiful free kick from Alexis Sanchez gave them the lead, Arsenal were pegged back by goals from Dusan Tadic, who converted a penalty and Nathaniel Clyne, who belted an absolute stunner. The second half saw Arsenal try to get back, but to no avail, as Southampton held on for a great win.
