Football: Shillong Lajong to tour Manipur

I-League outfit Shillong Lajong FC will tour Manipur to play in a charity match. They will play against Arambai XI on Thursday at Khuman Lampak Main stadium of Imphal. The organiser, Wangoi Football Association, will use the funds raised from the event to set up a football academy.

Shillong Lajong FC coach Singto told reporters that ” We have agreed to play in the charity match organised to set up Wangoi football academy as we feel it for a good cause.”

Last season, Lajong used this Khuman Lampak ground as their home ground for some of the matches of the I-League. Lajong enjoys a good fan support across Manipur and organisers are hoping for a good turnout of the fans in the match.
